This is the community focused ministry of St George’s church.
We want to follow the example of Jesus who always went to the places where the need for hope and healing were the greatest. We seek to serve those most in need in our community.

Homeless

We provide immediate relief for the homeless in Stamford, providing tents, sleeping bags and a hot cup of tea. We ensure they are plugged into to the right agencies to help them move forward.

SHEP

SHEP (Stamford Household Essentials Project) was set up in response to the needs of people housed in council properties with nothing to furnish their new home with. SHEP provides essential items to people in Stamford who are in need of household equipment and furniture.

If you are in need of or wish to donate items to SHEP, please contact us

Friday Connect

A weekly community cafe open to all. Friday Connect provides a safe place for the isolated and vulnerable in Stamford, and anyone who needs a cup of tea and piece of cake. It has become a community in itself and provides practical signposting support as well as prayer.

Befriending/practical support

We have a number of volunteers who walk alongside those in the community who are struggling to navigate life. We offer practical support with paperwork etc.

Safe Families

We are linked with the charity Safe Families and have a number of volunteers working with them in Stamford to support families whose children are at risk of being taken into care.

Networking

The work of Fresh Hope has been described as ‘the glue between agencies’. We have strong links with local agencies and charities across Stamford so we can signpost and advocate more effectively.
